The Monday Scoop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.
The Christmas leftovers are officially gone, your Amazon return pile is staring you down, and everyone’s pretending to “take it easy” this week while secretly Googling “best New Year’s Eve outfits that hide food babies.”
We’ve hit that magical post holiday limbo, half of us are still in pajamas, the other half already bought a 2026 planner we’ll use twice. But don’t worry, I’ve got your week covered: from new Frisco eats and concerts to some fun New Year’s Eve bashes.
Let’s dive into what’s happening around town as we count down the final days of 2025.

🎶 Frisco’s 2026 Concert Series to Celebrate America’s 250th
Next year’s about to sound amazing. The City of Frisco’s Cultural Affairs Division just announced the 2026 Music in the Chamber Concert Series, six months of performances celebrating 250 years of American music history.
Runs January through June 2026
Hosted at Frisco City Council Chambers
Each concert highlights a 50-year era of American music
The series opens January 23 at 7:30 PM with the Austin Baroque Orchestra, performing classics from 1776–1826, think early America meets candlelight concert vibes.
Other highlights:
SEUM Chamber (Feb 20) – 19th-century romanticism
Stockton Helbing Jazz Initiative (Mar 20) – roaring 20s swing
The Buffalo Ruckus (Apr 17) – soulful Americana
Nadodi (Jun 21) – modern global sounds from 1976–2026
Full lineup at PlayFrisco.org/MusicInTheChamber..
🍗 Home of the Original Buffalo Wing Lands in Frisco
Frisco’s newest restaurant just gave Wingstop some competition. Anchor Bar, the birthplace of the original Buffalo wing, has officially opened near Frisco Square (6129 Main St), bringing its legendary 1964 recipe straight from Buffalo, NY.
Same crispy, saucy wings that started the craze
Expanded menu with burgers, pizza, pasta & salads.
Full bar, TVs, patio seating, and private dining for game days or parties.
The vibe? Classic sports bar energy meets hometown nostalgia. Whether you’re there for football or a plate of 10 hot wings, you’ll leave covered in sauce and happiness.
🏀 Across the Ocean: Aussie Basketball Team Visits Frisco
Frisco’s Heritage High School played host to a special guest this month, the North East Bushrangers, a basketball team from Australia touring the U.S.
The Coyotes (ranked #2 in 5A) dominated on the scoreboard with a 96–33 win, but the night was more about connection than competition. The Bushrangers’ players, from small towns in northeast Australia, got a firsthand look at how American high school basketball works, both on and off the court.
Coach Adam Maher said, “It’s about growth, not just hoops, these players come home with new goals, new friends, and a new sense of what’s possible.”
🚧 Weekly Roadwork Roundup
This week’s traffic report, brought to you by… construction cones!
Here’s where to avoid those surprise lane closures:
New Pavement Work: 9541 North County Rd.
Ongoing Projects:
5612 Lafayette Dr.
9804 Prestmont Pl.
Kings Ridge Rd. (Castle Dr. → Camelot Dr.)
All projects expected to wrap within two weeks, weather permitting, though we all know “weather permitting” is Texas-speak for “probably later.”
