Frisco Insider - Whole Foods + Gender Pay Gap + More

The Friday Recap For Frisco

Howdy Frisco,

Happy Friday, folks! You made it through the week barely, but still! Whether you're ready to kick back, hit the town, or just stare at the ceiling for the next 48 hours, we’ve got all the news, events, and random fun facts you didn’t know you needed.

Coming up today:
📉 Frisco has the WORST gender pay gap in the U.S. (Yikes.)
🥑 Whole Foods is finally coming to Frisco, because nothing says “we’ve made it” like $7 avocados.
🚧 More lane closures, because Frisco roadwork never sleeps.
🎬 Weekend events, including a Taylor Swift tribute concert (Swifties, assemble!)
☀️ And of course, the weekend weather, because your group chat deserves accurate picnic plans.

💰 Frisco Has the Biggest Gender Pay Gap in America?!

Bad news, ladies: If you work in Frisco, you’re making 56 cents for every dollar a man earns. Yes, you read that right.

According to a new report, Frisco officially has the worst gender pay gap in the entire country, with men raking in a median salary of $119,310, while women bring in $67,094. That’s a $52K difference, nearly five times the national average.

Management positions have the widest gap, with women earning over $107K less than men in those roles. Experts say factors like occupational segregation and outdated biases around working moms contribute to the problem.

Moral of the story? If you’re a woman in Frisco, ask for that raise.

🥑 Whole Foods Is Finally Coming to Frisco!

It’s happening, y’all. Whole Foods is moving into The Mix (a fancy new development at Lebanon & Dallas Pkwy), bringing organic everything, overpriced but delicious snacks, and an entire aisle of kombucha right to our backyard.

📍 Location: The Mix, southeast corner of Lebanon Rd. & Dallas Pkwy
📆 Opening Date: TBD, but hopefully before the next presidential election

For those of us who’ve been making the trek to Plano or Dallas for our Whole Foods fix, this is big news. And for those who think HEB is better? Let’s agree that both have their place in our hearts and our unnecessarily expensive grocery carts.

🚧 Another Weekend, Another Round of Lane Closures

Because no weekend in Frisco is complete without a fresh batch of road closures, here’s what you need to know:

Panther Creek Pkwy Exit (NB) – Closed until March 14
SH 121 Exit (SB) – Closed all week
DNT Left Lanes from Gaylord to Cotton Gin – Nightly closures
SH 121 Entrance Ramp (NB) – Closed all week

Yes, this is all part of the Dallas North Tollway expansion, which is supposed to make our commutes better… someday. Until then? Waze is your best friend.
