The Friday Recap for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco, Happy Friday, and almost Valentine’s Day
First off, yes…I owe y’all an apology. Turns out I got a few event dates wrong last edition. So if you showed up to an empty parking lot with flowers and a yoga mat, my bad, I owe you a cookie. Or better yet, a cinnamon roll from Little Bit Bakery (more on that below).
Anyway, love is in the air this weekend, unless you’re single, in which case it’s just pollen and overpriced coffee. But don’t worry, whether you’re boo’d up, bestied up, or just treating yourself to chocolate and Netflix, I’ve got all your local updates and Valentine’s weekend plans covered.

🍞 Small Batch, Big Following: Inside Frisco’s Little Bit Bakery
There’s a line of people outside a random porch in Frisco. That’s Little Bit Bakery, one of the city’s sweetest hidden gems.
What started as 20 year old Angela Henson’s lockdown hobby has turned into a small town sensation. Every Saturday, customers line up for:
Warm sourdough loaves
Gooey cookies baked fresh the night before
Fluffy bagels that sell out faster than Taylor Swift tickets
Angela runs everything from a wooden cart her family built on their porch. Her story went viral on TikTok, one video blew up overnight and suddenly half of Frisco was DMing for pre-orders.
Now, she fills 75+ weekly orders, manages the entire operation herself, and still insists on keeping things personal.
No storefront. No chain. Just heart, hustle, and a little bit of sugar.

⚖️ Frisco Man Sentenced to Life for Exploiting Child While in Jail
A Collin County jury sentenced Anthony Dewayne Taylor, 46, to life in prison after prosecutors revealed he continued to exploit a child while already incarcerated for a separate murder case.
Taylor used recorded jail phone calls to contact and manipulate the victim, who was 14 when the abuse began. The investigation, led by Frisco Detective Kim Pruitt, uncovered critical evidence, including the recorded calls and physical proof recovered from Taylor’s residence.
The jury delivered the maximum possible sentence, life in prison and a $10,000 fine, ensuring Taylor will never harm another child again.
💧 Worker Dies After Water Main Burst at Eldorado & Independence
Tragic news this week. A construction worker died Tuesday afternoon after a major water line rupture flooded an underground access well near Eldorado and Independence.
Two private contractors were in a trench box when the line suddenly burst. One managed to escape, but the other was trapped and did not survive. The City of Frisco confirmed it was a privately managed project, not a city job, and that OSHA has launched an investigation into the cause.
Police haven’t released the worker’s name yet, pending notification of family.
Please keep the victim’s loved ones in your prayers, this one hit close to home.
📚 Frisco Public Library Designates ‘Free Expression Areas’
Big policy update: The Frisco Public Library will now have three designated “free expression areas” outside the building, spaces set aside for peaceful speech, discussion, or assembly.
Small groups (3 or fewer) can use the spaces anytime.
Larger groups must schedule at least 10 business days in advance.
The zones are placed away from entrances to avoid disruption to library users.
Officials emphasized that this change protects both free speech rights and public comfort. City Attorney Ryan Pittman noted,
“Libraries are limited public forums — we can define manner, place, and time for expression.”
So if you’ve ever wanted to passionately debate covid or defend your stance on pineapple pizza, now there’s a legal space for that. 🍍
