The Monday Scoop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.

It’s Monday, and yes, today’s newsletter is coming at you a little lighter than usual. Not because we didn’t do our job, but because Frisco’s been unusually quiet on the news front lately. But hey, quiet weeks are underrated, fewer surprises, more time for patio dinners and dog walks without dodging road closures….well, except the ones we do have this week.

Let’s get into it.

Brooklyn’s Cuts and Designs Says Goodbye to Frisco

Another small business is closing its doors. Brooklyn’s Cuts and Designs, a staple in the Rail District, officially shut down in July. The announcement came via social media from owner Rodregius “Brooklyn” Smith.

The shop was known for serving everyone from kids needing a quick trim before picture day to adults wanting that perfect, fresh cut confidence boost. Whether you were there for a fade, a style refresh, or just good conversation in the chair, the space built a loyal following.

🚶‍♀️ 9 New Trails Coming to Frisco

Whether you’re into weekend bike rides, morning runs, or just strolling with a coffee, Frisco’s trail network is about to get a major upgrade. Nine projects are in the works, some already under construction, others still in planning.

Highlights:

  • Cottonwood Trail Extension – Adding a stretch from Frisco Street to BNSF, connecting to the existing Cottonwood trail. Starts early 2026.

  • Iron Horse Trail – Will link to the Blue Bluestem trail and extend to Rock Creek Parkway, with a future connection to Grand Park.

  • Friendship Trail – New path north of Shady Brook Lane from FM 423, tying into the Trails of West Frisco network.

  • Panther Creek Trail – Nearly done! This one will connect existing paths north of Eldorado Parkway from Preston Road to BNSF by year’s end.

And that’s just a sample. In a couple of years, it’ll be even easier to get your steps in without stepping into traffic.
