The Friday Recap for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.

Happy Friday! You made it through another week of 6 a.m. school traffic, random cold fronts, and H-E-B aisles that somehow feel like a social experiment. Whether you’re spending the weekend catching some sun, sipping coffee, or convincing your dog not to bark at your Roomba again, I’ve got your local news, weekend events, and weather ready to roll.

Let’s get into it.

🥩 Frisco Is Getting One of Dallas’ Most Exclusive Steakhouses

Frisco’s dining scene just leveled up in a major way. HALL Park, the sleek, mixed use development that’s basically a city within a city, is adding Tango Room and Commissary, two high end Dallas staples from Headington Companies.

Here’s the sizzle:

  • Tango Room: Known for its ultra luxe vibe, premium steak cuts, and wine list that reads like a novel. Think date nights, anniversaries, and “we got the promotion” dinners.

  • Commissary: A bakery meets café that’ll serve handmade pastries, fresh sandwiches, and possibly Frisco’s best morning espresso once it opens.

If you thought you needed to drive to downtown Dallas for a bougie steak night, those days are numbered.

🚔 Frisco Serial Stalker Gets Maximum Prison Sentence

In a chilling case that’s rocked the local community, 40 year old Frisco resident Robert Bevers has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, which is the maximum penalty, for stalking a woman in 2024.

Here’s what happened:

  • Bevers harassed multiple women over nearly a decade, sending unsolicited gifts, messages, and threats, some of which turned sexual and racist.

  • Investigators uncovered fake accounts, phone data, and years of harassment, stretching as far back as 2016.

  • Jurors heard from four additional victims, who shared eerily similar experiences.

One survivor told the court she asked for the maximum sentence so she could finally have “a moment of peace.” Bevers, who has prior convictions for assault and harassment, was also fined $10,000.

Justice served, and a huge thank you to Frisco PD and Detective Brenna Bearden for their persistence.

☕ Black Sheep Coffee Set to Open in Frisco in 2026

Move over, Starbucks, there’s a new bean boss in town. Black Sheep Coffee, a London based coffee chain known for its bold flavors and funky vibes, is officially opening a location at 2200 Stonebrook Parkway in early 2026.

What to expect:

  • Hot & iced coffee, frappes, and Red Bull infused drinks (because caffeine alone wasn’t enough)

  • Functional health shots like:

    • Prebiotic Blend for gut health

    • Collagen + Mushroom Blend for skin glow

    • Lion’s Mane Shot for focus

  • A menu with açai bowls, croissants, muffins, and scones

If you love trendy coffee joints that double as laptop lounges, get ready, this might become your new daily haunt.

🐾 Frisco’s $12.8M Animal Facility Moves Forward, But Not Everyone’s Wagging Their Tail

A new 18,987 square foot animal services facility just got the green light…barely. Frisco City Council passed the proposal in a tight 4-3 vote, sparking both excitement and skepticism among residents.

The plan:

  • Built on PGA Parkway near Executive Drive, the two story facility would include:

    • Daycare, boarding, and veterinary care

    • Separate areas for cats, exotics, and adoptions

    • A community training room and 24 hour dorm for staff

    • Purpose: Reduce reliance on Collin County’s overfilled shelter

But not everyone’s on board, some residents want a feasibility study before construction, citing transparency concerns and animal welfare priorities.

Mayor Jeff Cheney responded: “We’re still at the dreaming stage.”

Translation: it’s not set in stone, but the city’s ready to explore the idea further.
