Baseball season is back, and Riders Field got a glow up.

The Frisco RoughRiders (Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers) unveiled a long list of upgrades heading into 2026, and honestly… .t’s impressive.

  A private nursing and diaper-changing space behind centerfield in a renovated gazebo. Quiet, comfortable, thoughtful addition.

• Third Base Dugout Decks (Replacing Covered Wagons)
  Expanded footprint, new furniture, fans for those hot Texas evenings, and better views.

• InTouch Home Run Terrace
  New furniture + added drink rails = more seating beyond left field.

• Party Decks (1st & 3rd Base)
  Fresh paint, new flooring, TVs, furniture, and more seating space.

• Suites
  Brand-new flooring, upgraded AC system with digital controls, and improved comfort.

• Wi-Fi Upgrade
  New ballpark-wide Wi-Fi system installed — which means your game-day selfies won’t lag in the 7th inning.

🚨 Frisco Man Sentenced to 50 Years in Child Abuse Case

A Frisco man was sentenced this week to 50 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child, along with additional concurrent sentences for indecency with a child and possession of child sexual abuse images.

The abuse spanned five years, beginning when the victim was 10 years old.

After the victim disclosed the abuse years later, Frisco Police launched an investigation that uncovered additional victims dating back decades.

Following a guilty plea, the judge sentenced him to 50 years.

A difficult story, but accountability matters. And victims coming forward matters even more.

🌳 $40M Northwest Community Park Nears Completion

On a much lighter note…

Frisco’s 122 acre Northwest Community Park is about 70% complete and on track to open this June.

Price tag: roughly $40 million.
Focus: nature, cycling, and family space (not sports fields).

What’s coming:

• Bike park (beginner friendly)

• Asphalt pump tracks

• Off-road trails with jumps

• Splash pad

• Playgrounds

• Dog park

• Event lawn

• Food truck spaces

• Prairie overlook deck

• Miles of hike & bike trails

• Native Blackland Prairie restoration

The Dallas Off Road Bicycling Association will help maintain trails.

City leaders say this park is meant to be a “destination park”, the kind you’d actually drive across town to visit.

Cyclists are already calling it potentially the “gold standard” for North Texas.
