Frisco Insider - Protests + Alert + More

The Monday Scoop for Frisco

Good Morning, Frisco. Happy Monday.

Did anyone else spend the weekend playing “Is It Spring or Is It Just Texas Being Confused Again?”

One minute it’s breezy and gray. The next minute it’s 84° and your allergies are writing their resignation letter.

Also, is it just me, or are there mayor yard signs absolutely everywhere right now? I’ve seen more campaign signs than bluebonnets. If you drive down Main Street, you’re basically in a democracy themed obstacle course.

Alright, let’s get into it.

🪧 Thousands March in Dallas, Fort Worth & Frisco During “No Kings” Rallies

*Frisco Insider is simply reporting what happened locally. This edition is not intended to imply support for or opposition to any political party, movement, or administration, just sharing factual community news.

Over the weekend, North Texas saw multiple “No Kings” demonstrations, including gatherings in Frisco, Dallas, and Fort Worth.

In Frisco:
More than 200 people lined FM 423 between Main Street and Stonebrook Parkway around 9 a.m.

In Dallas:
Roughly 1,000 people gathered at City Hall at noon before marching downtown.

Organizers say the protests are part of a nationwide effort opposing policies of the Trump administration. More than 10 events were scheduled across the Dallas-Fort Worth area Saturday.

In Frisco, demonstrators waved American flags, carried signs addressing immigration enforcement, tariffs, gas prices, and foreign policy, and chanted as passing drivers honked.

In Dallas, a large crowd gathered at the reflecting pool outside City Hall before marching through downtown streets. At one point, police detained a man after an altercation between protesters and counter-protesters. Officers separated the groups and the march continued.

Some attendees shared personal stories about immigration, voting rights, and civic engagement. Others emphasized mobilizing voters and encouraging political participation.

As always, Frisco Insider is simply reporting what happened locally. This edition is not intended to imply support for or opposition to any political party, movement, or administration, just sharing factual community news.

🚨 Don’t Panic: Emergency Alert Test on April 2

If your phone screams at you Thursday morning, breathe.

Frisco will send a CodeRED emergency alert test at 10 a.m. on April 2 as part of a statewide drill.

You may receive:

  • A phone call

  • A text

  • An email

  • Possibly more than one

The test window runs 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

City officials say testing ensures the system works when it actually matters (severe weather, public safety emergencies, etc.).

If you want to double check your alert preferences, now’s the time.

No action needed. No emergency. Just a test.

Translation:
Hot. Windy. Slightly dramatic by Thursday morning.

Keep that umbrella in the car.

That’s your Monday pulse, Frisco.

Major protests, a brand new mega sports bar, a statewide emergency drill incoming, and yes, campaign yard signs multiplying faster than spring weeds.

Stay hydrated. Stay neighborly. And if you see me dodging potholes and yard signs simultaneously, just wave.

Catch y’all Wednesday!
