The Monday Scoop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.
Welcome to December! Yep, it’s officially time for holiday lights, peppermint everything, and that one neighbor who went full Clark Griswold on their front yard the moment Thanksgiving ended. The temps are dropping, the playlists are switching to Mariah Carey, and the air’s got that just barely festive, mostly chilly Texas vibe.
We’ve entered the home stretch of 2025, and the city’s already buzzing, from big tech upgrades and new drones (yes, really) to fresh furniture finds and a few road projects that’ll make your GPS cry. Let’s dive in, y’all, here’s what’s happening around Frisco this week.

🏡 Frisco Tops List of Hottest Cities for 2026 New Residents
Get ready to say “howdy” to a lot of new neighbors. Frisco has officially been named one of the top destinations in the U.S. for people moving in 2026, according to a new MoveBuddha report.
What’s driving the migration:
Job growth that’s outpacing most Texas cities
New developments like the Universal Kids Resort and Fields West
A strong housing market (well, strong-ish — it’s still Texas)
Top rated schools and family-friendly communities
Basically, Frisco’s on everyone’s vision board. So don’t be surprised when your favorite coffee shop line suddenly doubles, it’s just your soon to be best friend from California or New York moving in next door. Honestly I think we can all agree people need to stop moving here at this point.
🚔 Frisco PD Adds Drones as First Responders
You read that right, Frisco’s going futuristic. The city council just approved a $427,500 agreement with Flock Group to bring six new drones to the Frisco Police Department.
🚁 What they’ll do:
Respond to emergency calls before officers arrive
Provide live HD and thermal footage to assess danger
Help reduce response times and improve safety
Each drone comes with remote piloting, docking stations, and a community dashboard for transparency. The city will seek reimbursement through a state grant, making this a high tech (and budget smart) move.
Prosper rolled out a similar program earlier this year, so yeah, North Texas might just have the most airborne police force in the state.
