Frisco Insider - No Kings + Dallas Pulse + More

The Monday Scoop for Frisco

Happy Monday, friends, the kind of Monday where you actually have to look up whether it’s still iced coffee season (spoiler: it is). Whether you spent the weekend dodging raindrops, avoiding traffic near The Star, or just trying to remember where you put your fall decorations, you made it. Let’s kick off the week with what’s happening around town, some big news shaking up North Texas, and a forecast that might just make you want to call in “sunshine-sick.”

Thousands Gather for ‘No Kings’ Protests Across DFW

This weekend, the “No Kings” protests drew thousands across Collin County and Dallas, yes, even in the rain. Crowds filled streets in Plano, Frisco, and McKinney, voicing their frustrations with the Trump administration.

While emotions ran high, demonstrations stayed peaceful, with attendees emphasizing unity and free speech. In Dallas, protesters packed Pacific Plaza downtown, speaking out on issues like immigration raids and executive overreach.

In Collin County, typically a conservative stronghold, many longtime residents said they were surprised by the turnout. Protesters carried signs like “We the People Object to Trump” and “The Emperor Has No Clothes.” Plano resident Jenny Colombo, who’s lived there 35 years, said she’s never seen her city so politically active.

“When I first moved here, I was outnumbered politically,” she said. “Now people are speaking up.”

Thousands packed Pacific Plaza, rallying against immigration raids and limits on free speech. Despite the rain, the mood stayed calm and hopeful.

“It didn’t feel divided,” said Glenn Moore, a Dallas attendee. “It felt like community.”

Frisco Lands Another Pro Team: Dallas Pulse 🏐

Move over, Cowboys, there’s a new team in town! Major League Volleyball’s Dallas franchise just unveiled its new name: Dallas Pulse, and they’ll be calling Frisco’s Comerica Center home starting in 2026.

  • The name “Pulse” symbolizes the heartbeat of Dallas and the tempo of the game.

  • It’s also a big step for women’s sports, with North Texas already a hotbed for volleyball talent, this gives fans a hometown team to rally behind.

  • Season ticket deposits opened Oct. 16 on the Dallas Pulse website.

Frisco keeps cementing its title as Sports City USA, adding professional volleyball to a lineup that already includes football, soccer, hockey, and more. Game on.
