The Monday Scoop for Frisco
Howdy, Frisco!
Happy Monday, pollen count’s still rude, but the skies are sunny and the calendar is stacked. Whether you’re grabbing pizza for a cause, weighing in on housing plans, or just dodging Dallas Parkway closures like a game of Frogger, I’ve got the scoop.
In the News
NFL Draft Prospect Arrested in Frisco
Projected first or second-round NFL Draft pick Isaiah Bond turned himself in to Frisco Police last week on a warrant for sexual assault.
🏈 Bond, a wide receiver from Texas (by way of Alabama), was considered a strong candidate for the Cowboys, potentially sliding into a No. 2 role behind CeeDee Lamb.
He posted bond and was released, but this charge could seriously impact his draft stock.
Very little is known about the incident itself, so teams are waiting to see how the case unfolds.
Frisco Rolls Out Affordable Housing Strategy
With home prices rising 127% in the last decade and median rents hitting $2,900/month, Frisco is now mapping out a new 5-year plan to support low- to moderate-income residents.
🏠 $726K in HUD grant funds could go toward:
Infrastructure improvements ($521K)
Senior services, homelessness aid, and Frisco Family Services
Housing rehab for seniors, low-income families, and people with disabilities
A public hearing is scheduled for May 14, and residents can submit feedback via email through April 30:
