The Friday Recap for Frisco
Howdy, Frisco!
It’s Friday, April 25. Whether you're staying in with your AC on blast or stepping out for wine, live music, or a cocktail class (no judgment if all three), I’ve got your must know updates, weekend to do list, and weather forecast that’s mostly sunshine with a side of Texas mood swings.
📰 This Week’s Headlines
Frisco Stabbing Story Gets Hijacked Online
This week, social media took a serious story and turned it into… chaos. A flyer promoting a protest related to the Austin Metcalf stabbing circulated widely, with the words “Protect White Americans” and some misinformation, including a misspelled “Friso.”
Protest organized by Jake Lang, a U.S. Senate candidate in Florida
Frisco PD says they’re aware and will be present to ensure public safety
Metcalf’s dad: “This was not a race thing. This was not a political thing.”
Moral of the story? Don’t believe every viral post.
