The Monday Scoop for Frisco
Howdy, Frisco.
It’s Memorial Day Monday, which means a little extra time to sleep in, a lot of flags flying high, and the smell of backyard BBQs in the air. Whether you're honoring the fallen, dodging the rain, or debating if it's still socially acceptable to wear jeans in 80-degree weather, we’ve got your full scoop on what’s happening across the city today.
So grab your iced tea, fire up the grill (or the group chat), and let’s dive into what’s happening around our town.

In Denton County, early voting is flexible, but on election day, you’ll need to hit your assigned precinct.
New $16M Nature Center & Parks HQ Coming to Frisco
Frisco Parks & Rec is getting a serious upgrade. On May 20, City Council approved a $1.29M design contract for a new nature center + admin building which is a huge step towards a project funded by 2019 bond money.
It’ll include classrooms, a small live animal exhibit, and park programming space.
Total project budget: $16M
Design Firm: PBK Architects (out of 13 considered)
Currently, staff work out of City Hall. This gives them a home base, and gives us, the public, more opportunities to connect with nature and outdoor learning.
