The Wednesday Loop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.
We are officially in that weird in between season where it’s 87 degrees one day and you’re grilling….then 62 and you’re looking for a hoodie you swore you put away. North Texas weather stays unpredictable, but at least the pollen is consistent.
I hope your week’s been smooth, your coffee strong, and your group texts quiet for once. Let’s jump into what’s happening around town, because this week we’ve got “Operation Mario Kart,” school leadership shakeups, refinery explosions, airport drama, and a full weekend lineup that includes helicopters, wrestling, and bowling.

Texas Edition
🎮 Plano Police Bust Retail Theft Ring in “Operation Mario Kart”
Yes, that’s the real name.
Plano police wrapped up a months-long investigation called “Operation Mario Kart” that led to the recovery of more than $100,000 in stolen goods and $42,000 in cash during a raid at a home in Irving.
The case started with what seemed like a simple $2,500 theft of gaming electronics. But detectives discovered the items were allegedly being stolen for a “fence”, someone who buys stolen goods to resell them.
The investigation expanded to include multiple agencies, along with retail partners like Walmart, Target, Kroger, and even Nintendo of America.
One suspect is in custody facing organized retail theft charges.
So yes, this one started with video games…and ended with a six figure bust.
Your Gutters May Be Clogged
Frisco gets over 40 inches of rain a year. Every drop that can't drain properly sits against your fascia, seeps under your shingles, and works its way toward your foundation.
The average foundation repair in Texas? $5,000 to $15,000.
A gutter cleaning? Almost nothing.
That's the math. One small, cheap service protects one of the biggest investments of your life. There's no version of this where skipping it makes financial sense.
Here's the deal:
We'll come out and clean your gutters for a price so low it's almost embarrassing to charge. No hidden fees. No upsells. No pressure. Just clean gutters and the confidence that your home is protected heading into the next storm season.
We're local in Frisco. We're fast. And we're backed by dozens of neighbors who already booked and wonder why they waited so long.
We only take a handful of new homes each month, not to create fake urgency, but because that's genuinely how we keep quality high.
Certified, local, and ready to get up there so you don't have to.
Takes 4 seconds to get started. Your home will thank you.

🎓 North Texas Schools Seeing Surge in Superintendent Departures
Several North Texas school districts are in leadership transition mode.
Superintendents in Irving, Prosper, DeSoto, Fort Worth, and Lake Worth ISDs have either announced retirements, resigned, or are being replaced as part of state takeovers.
Statewide data shows superintendent turnover remains higher than pre-pandemic levels. Experts point to:
Enrollment declines
Funding pressures
Around the clock job demands
Increasing political tensions
Some departures were planned retirements after long careers. Others happened more abruptly, which can create rockier transitions for districts.
Bottom line: A lot of school boards across North Texas are doing job interviews right now.
💥 Explosion at Texas Oil Refinery Triggers Shelter in Place
A massive explosion at a crude oil refinery in Port Arthur sent towering plumes of black smoke into the sky Monday afternoon and physically shook nearby homes.
Residents in the western part of the city were told to shelter in place as officials monitored air quality. Some described the smell as “rotten eggs,” often associated with sulfur.
No injuries have been reported, and all refinery personnel were accounted for. Officials are investigating what may have caused the blast, possibly involving a heating unit.
About 55,000 people live in the area.
It’s a reminder of how critical, and complex our Texas energy infrastructure is.
✈️ ICE Agents Not Being Sent to DFW or Love Field, For Now
As the Department of Homeland Security shutdown continues, ICE agents have been deployed to assist at airports experiencing long TSA lines in cities like Houston and Atlanta.
But DFW and Dallas Love Field have not seen ICE deployments, at least for now, because security lines here haven’t reached those extreme levels.
DHS says 400 TSA employees nationwide have quit since last month due to missed paychecks. Lawmakers are still debating funding and broader policy disputes.
For now, North Texas travelers appear to be spared the multi hour security nightmare seen elsewhere.
Still….show up early. Always show up early.
