📜 Texas Legislative Updates

Lawmakers are busy in Austin, and here are five big updates to keep an eye on:

  1. Library Advisory Councils – A new bill proposes creating local councils to help decide which books are appropriate for school libraries. Parents would also get more control over what their kids can check out.

  2. Texas-UK Partnership – Texas is teaming up with the UK to strengthen economic ties, focusing on energy, tech, and healthcare.

  3. EV Charging Tax – A proposed bill would add a $0.26 per kWh tax to electric vehicle charging stations to help fund Texas highways.

  4. Property Tax Exemptions – A bill passed in the Senate would increase the homestead exemption to $140,000, potentially lowering property tax bills.

  5. Drone Defense Bill – A proposed law would allow property owners to legally disable or destroy unauthorized drones flying over their land.

Big things are happening, and I’ll keep y’all posted on how these bills progress.
