The Monday Scoop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco. 🦃
Happy Monday, and happy Thanksgiving week! The kids are out of school, the grocery stores are war zones, and your fridge is already running out of space. It’s officially that time of year again.
As we all slow down a bit (well, except the traffic), this week’s all about gratitude, family, and trying to keep the mashed potatoes off the ceiling. But before we dive into the stuffing, here’s your local news, event lineup, and weather for the week, Frisco style.

🚧 King Road Construction to Begin in 2026
King Road construction is officially a go. After a City Council vote on Nov. 18, Frisco, Little Elm, and Denton County are teaming up to expand and rebuild King Road from 280 feet west of Witt Road to Rose Lane.
Here’s the breakdown:
Four lanes between Witt Rd. and Anthem Dr.
Three lanes between Anthem Dr. and Rose Ln.
Total cost: Around $11.6 million
Frisco’s share: About $538,000 plus lighting and landscaping costs
Denton County contribution: $6 million after a recent $1.5M increase
Little Elm contribution: $1.6 million
Construction is expected to kick off in early 2026, with the goal of improving safety, traffic flow, and connection between the two cities. Once it’s done, expect smoother drives (and hopefully fewer honks).
🍻 Little Woodrow’s Stonebriar Coming to Frisco
Frisco’s nightlife just got an upgrade. Little Woodrow’s, the iconic Texas sports bar chain known for its laid-back vibes and legendary turtle races, is opening a location at Stonebriar Mall in Spring 2026.
What to expect:
Dozens of screens for sports fans
Trivia nights, happy hours, and yard games
A dog-friendly patio (because it’s Texas law at this point)
Private event space for parties and celebrations
It’ll be the 24th Little Woodrow’s in Texas and only the second in DFW, making Frisco the next hotspot for cold drinks, football, and friendly competition.
🚫 Frisco Restaurant Temporarily Closed After Failing Inspection
One Frisco restaurant had a rough week before Thanksgiving. Mirchi Indian Cuisine at 12255 Teel Parkway was temporarily shut down after scoring 37 demerits on its Nov. 13 inspection, exceeding the city’s 30 point limit.
Violations included:
Unsafe food temperatures (curd sauce left out too long)
Unlabeled cleaning chemicals
No certified food manager present
And worst of all… no hot water in the kitchen
The good news? The restaurant fixed the issues quickly, scored a 21 the next day, and was allowed to reopen. No rodent issues were found anywhere in Frisco this round, though one spot, Tupy’s, did have a stray roach making an unwelcome cameo.
Weekly Roadwork Roundup, November 24, 2025
If your GPS has been screaming “rerouting” lately, here’s why. These projects may impact traffic for the next two weeks (weather permitting):
New Pavement Replacement: 9541 N. County Rd.
Ongoing Pavement: 7803 Palisades Dr.
Utility & Pavement Work: Kings Ridge Rd. between Castle Dr. & Camelot Dr.
Translation: Add five minutes to every ETA and maybe an extra shot to your coffee.
