The Friday Recap for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco! Happy Friday.
I don’t know what’s crazier this week…
The fact that it’s 82° in February… or the fact that Samuel L. Jackson is officially coming to Frisco.
Hollywood. In Frisco.
Five years ago we were arguing about which Whataburger line moves faster. Now we’re apparently getting a mob drama set in our backyard. I genuinely never thought I’d type that sentence.
Let’s get into it.

🎬 Samuel L. Jackson Starring in ‘Frisco King’
Yes, this is real.
Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Tulsa King spin-off, originally set in New Orleans, is now officially moving to Frisco, Texas and has been renamed “Frisco King.”
The show will star Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr, and have 8 episodes initially.
If you’re unfamiliar, Tulsa King follows Sylvester Stallone’s character building a criminal empire in Oklahoma. Jackson’s character was introduced in Season 3, a hitman who was supposed to kill Stallone…and didn’t.
The original spin-off, NOLA King, was supposed to take place in New Orleans. But now?
We’ve got:
New title
New setting
Texas backdrop
Production starting in late March in Fort Worth
And I have questions.
Are we getting cowboy mobsters?
Is someone running organized crime out of a luxury apartment in The Star?
Is there going to be a dramatic scene in the H-E-B parking lot?
It’s unclear how much of the show will actually be set inside Frisco versus filmed around DFW, but one thing’s certain: this is a huge spotlight moment for the city.
From “Sports City USA” to “Crime Drama Capital” apparently.
Get rid of clogged gutters
Hey Frisco neighbors
Real talk, clogged gutters are one of those things that seem minor until they're not. We're talking foundation damage, roof leaks, and water getting where it really shouldn't.
Local homeowners who skip gutter maintenance end up spending thousands on repairs that a simple cleaning would've prevented.
Here in Frisco, we get enough storms and debris to clog gutters faster than anywhere else. Folks around here trust local crews who know what DFW weather actually does to a home.
And the best part? This service won't cost you an arm and leg We're talking seriously affordable, the kind of price that makes you wonder why you waited this long.
Certified, local, and ready to get up there so you don't have to.
Takes 4 seconds to get started. Your home will thank you.

🛝 Frisco Council Approves $750K for New Playground at Lexington Park
On a slightly less dramatic note (unless you’re 5 years old), Frisco City Council approved a $750,000 playground equipment order for the upcoming Lexington Park.
This 7-acre park west of Coit Road will include:
Two playgrounds (ages 2–5 and 5–12)
Climbing features
Outdoor fitness equipment

Translation: Parents, your future “burn off the energy before bedtime” location is in progress.
🚒 Frisco’s Mini Safety Town Is Back (And Kids Get to Drive Jeeps)
One of the most wholesome things in Frisco is officially back: Safety Saturdays at Frisco Fire Safety Town.
This is basically:
A miniature city
With real paved streets
Working traffic lights
Railroad crossings
And kids driving battery-powered Jeeps
Upcoming Safety Saturday dates:
March 7
May 16
September 26
Important:
Events are No Cost
Jeep/bike rides require advance reservation
Registration opens the Sunday before each event
They also have:
A “safety house” teaching home hazard awareness
An “After-the-Fire Theatre” simulation
ADA accommodations available
Located at 8601 Gary Burns Drive (next to Central Fire Station).
Honestly? This is one of those Frisco gems that makes you go, “Okay yeah, this city is pretty cool.”

Translation: It’s basically summer in February. After that freezing week we just had, this feels personal. Texas really said, “My bad.”
That’s it for this week, Frisco.
From playground investments to million dollar volleyball championships to Samuel L. Jackson potentially running a fictional crime ring down the street….our city continues to surprise me.
Hollywood in Frisco. Still wrapping my head around that one.
Enjoy the sunshine, support local events, and I’ll see you next week.
Catch y’all Monday!
