The Friday Recap for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.

Happy Friday, y’all, and happy Black Friday! The turkey’s been devoured, the family debates have (mostly) settled, and half of us are still in a food coma pretending we’ll start that “clean eating” plan on Monday. Whether you’re out braving the mall crowds for deals or staying home to protect your sanity (and your wallet), today’s the perfect mix of chaos and coziness.

We’re all recovering from Thanksgiving feasts, football marathons, and way too many “just one more slice” moments, but hey, that’s what stretchy pants are for. Now let’s jump into your post holiday Frisco fix.

🏆 Frisco Wins National Digital Cities Award for AI & Innovation

Big news for our tech savvy town! Frisco just earned 7th place nationwide in the 2025 Digital Cities Survey for its cutting-edge use of AI and smart city tools.

Here’s what helped us stand out:

  • Frisco piloted ChatGPT to summarize meetings and create internal briefings (yes, our city uses AI too).

  • Rolled out a Capital Improvement Dashboard showing every major project, funding source, and status, in plain English, not government speak.

  • Upgraded the open data portal and city website for better mobile use and transparency.

  • Improved cybersecurity training and moved disaster recovery systems to the cloud.

Basically, Frisco’s turning into the Silicon Valley of city management, without the bad traffic and $8 coffees.

Where Frisco Eats When It Wants Real Flavor

Every Frisco local knows the challenge: you want something fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, but not another chain or drive through meal. That’s where Kitchen Master Bistro steps in.

Tucked in the heart of Frisco, this local favorite is built around one idea, food should feel both homemade and exciting. From chef crafted entrées to signature sauces that took years to perfect, every dish has a story. It’s not fast food. It’s food made by people who care about what ends up on your plate.

Whether it’s a quiet lunch break, a casual date night, or a family dinner spot that actually pleases everyone, Kitchen Master Bistro turns simple meals into moments worth slowing down for.

Locals say you taste the difference starting with the first bite. Maybe that’s why so many say it feels like “Frisco’s hidden gem.”

🚧 10 Big Transportation Projects Are Underway

If it feels like every road in Frisco is under construction… you’re not wrong. The city just released an update on 10 ongoing and upcoming transportation projects, and it’s a doozy.

Highlights include:

  • Hillcrest Road: Two separate upgrades coming, from SH 121 to Main (planning phase) and from Panther Creek Pkwy to PGA Pkwy (nearly done).

  • Mahard Parkway: Getting new lanes and a traffic light near PGA Pkwy by year’s end.

  • Lebanon Road & Teel Parkway: Both widening projects officially underway, expect smoother traffic by 2027.

  • US 380 Lighting: Wrapping up early next year, finally brightening those long night drives.

  • PGA Parkway: Expanding to six lanes by late 2026, because golfers need wide roads too.

Translation: buckle up, add 10 minutes to your ETA, and try to channel your inner zen during rush hour.

🔐 CodeRED Breach Prompts Password Reset Warning

Heads up, Frisco, if you’ve ever signed up for CodeRED emergency alerts, it’s time to change your passwords.

The city confirmed a nationwide data breach through CodeRED’s third party vendor, which may have exposed user names, emails, addresses, and passwords. Other North Texas cities like Plano and McKinney were also affected.

What to do:

  • Change your CodeRED password immediately.

  • If you reuse that password (you know who you are), change it everywhere else too.

  • Stay updated via the city’s Facebook, X, or Nextdoor accounts while CodeRED’s system is being secured.

Frisco has temporarily removed sign up links until CodeRED gets things patched up, because no one wants a hacker in their emergency alerts.

🍽️ Red’s on Main Set to Open in January

A new dining spot is heating up Main Street. Red’s on Main will open in January near Main & Teel Parkway, serving modern American comfort food with a twist.

Expect:

  • Paninis, smash burgers, and chicken fried steak

  • Global touches like fish & chips, chicken scallopini, and salmon teriyaki bowls

  • A bar split between wine, craft beer, and plenty of cocktails

The space will also feature live music nights, making it a go to for dinner and a vibe.
