The Wednesday Loop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco!
I am very excited to announce Wednesday editions! These editions will include everything you’d expect to see in our Monday and Friday editions, but just a tad bit broader. We’ve received so much positive feedback and demand for another sending day, so this was the next natural step. Wednesday editions will be packed with quality, and feature Texas News, and the hottest events near you, whether or not they’re exactly in Frisco. Your support means everything, please let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll at the bottom of this newsletter.
Texas News Roundup
North Texas Sees Fewest 100 Degree Days Since 2007
If this summer felt a little less like standing in an oven, you’re right. North Texas just clocked only six triple digit days this meteorological summer (June–Aug.), the lowest since 2007.
📅 First 100° day didn’t hit until July 29, the latest in years
💧 A wetter spring (over 9 inches of rain in April & May) kept soils cooler
☀️ An upper level “heat dome” parked itself elsewhere, sparing DFW the worst
Average summer temp? 84.5°, making it only the 39th warmest summer in 127 years of records. Don’t get too comfy, though, forecasters say fall is likely to run hotter than usual with below average rain. Translation: don’t pack away that sunscreen yet.
Texas Bans Sale of THC Vape Pens
Heads up: selling THC vapes in Texas is now officially illegal.
⚖️ New law makes it a Class A misdemeanor
⛔ Up to 1 year in jail + $4,000 fine for sellers
🙋 Possession isn’t banned, just sales
Lawmakers say it’s about keeping vapes out of schools, critics argue it’ll only grow the black market. Hemp shops across Texas, like ATX Organics in Austin, cleared shelves before the ban hit.
Also worth noting: more than 800 new Texas laws took effect Sept. 1, covering everything from:
School vouchers (launching in 2026–27)
Pay raises for teachers
Display of Ten Commandments in schools (currently facing court challenges)
Expanded medical marijuana program (now includes chronic pain & Crohn’s)
Water infrastructure projects
Ban on certain foreign land ownership
It’s one of the biggest law rollouts in recent years, so buckle up.
