The Wednesday Loop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.
I hope everyone’s been doing well this week. Between the sunshine, the wind, and the 47 running for mayor yard signs at every intersection, it officially feels like spring in North Texas. I swear, if I see one more campaign sign at an intersection, I might accidentally run for office myself.
But in all seriousness, it’s a big week of heartwarming stories, local politics wrapping up recounts, transit drama cooling down, and border security ramping up. Let’s get into it.

Texas Edition
🏊 North Texas Swim Team Raises $20,000, Donates Car to School Custodian
This one right here? Pure gold.
Students at J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson organized a swim a thon to help their beloved custodian, Mr. Van Le, who had been hospitalized and unable to work while medical bills piled up.
What started as a fundraiser turned into something massive. The swim team didn’t just raise money, they surprised him with:
A car
A brand new bike
$20,000 to help cover medical bills
Coach Eric Ewing told Mr. Le they’d take care of everything, including negotiating with the hospital. And if you’ve ever seen teenagers surprise someone like that, you already know that there were hugs, tears, and probably zero dry eyes in the building.
It was a full school effort. And honestly? In a world of wild headlines, this one just feels good.
Are you tired of the same dreary Entertainment at your Home or Office party?
Why not try a Murder Mystery game from Murder InKorporated!?
It's like the board game Clue, but played with real people. It's fun, it's easy, it's mysterious. It's a web of deception and intrigue. There is one among you who is the killer. Will it be you or someone you know? You will have to examine your clues closely! You may be the only one to solve the mystery! The only way to be sure is to play this “high stakes” Game as if your life depends on it!
To play one of our Murder Mysteries requires no special props or acting abilities, just a willingness to have fun and immerse yourself in the character. Your guests do not need to study or memorize any scripts or other information about the scenario. Each Murder Game is built to your exact number of guests, and can be (optionally) personalized.
Each Murder Mystery Game comes with complete Instructions, and can be purchased in Physical or Digital Formats. For Information call Gregg London at 469-585-1961, or send an E-Mail to [email protected]

🗳️ Frisco Special Election Recount Complete, Anderson Confirmed
After a razor thin race for Frisco City Council Place 1, the recount is in, and the original results stand.
Ann Anderson officially defeated challenger Mark Piland by 110 votes (4,063 to 3,953) in the Jan. 31 special election. The recount found no discrepancies.
Anderson will be sworn in on March 3, filling the unexpired term after John Keating stepped down to run for mayor.
Speaking of mayor….if you’ve driven through Preston, Main, or literally anywhere with grass, you’ve probably noticed campaign signs multiplying like rabbits. Election season in Frisco is in full swing. Buckle up.
🚆 Plano Will Stay in DART (For Now)
After months of tension and talk of withdrawal, Plano has officially canceled its election to leave DART, the region’s largest public transit system.
City leaders negotiated a deal that returns $360 million to member cities over six years, with Plano set to receive more than $61 million. The agreement also includes governance changes and expanded board representation.
Plano had been pushing aggressively to reduce DART’s funding structure. Now, instead of leaving, the city says it’ll work on reform from within.
Translation: The trains aren’t going anywhere for Plano, at least not yet.
🚨 Abbott Deploys DPS Along Border After Cartel Violence
Governor Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to increase operations along the southern border after violence erupted in Mexico following the killing of cartel leader “El Mencho.”
DPS units, including Texas Rangers, Highway Patrol, tactical units, and aircraft operations, are ramping up to prevent potential spillover activity.
Officials emphasized the move is precautionary, with coordination happening alongside federal agencies. Texans traveling in Mexico were urged to stay alert and follow U.S. embassy guidance.
Security situations can shift quickly, so it’s something state officials are watching closely.
