Frisco Insider - Cowboys + City Permits + More

The Friday Recap for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco! Happy Friday.

We made it.

The sun’s been out, the wind’s been aggressive, and my AC has officially filed a complaint with HR because it’s been working overtime this week.

Spring in North Texas is undefeated.

Also, Happy Easter weekend to those who celebrate 🐰 May your egg hunts be strategic and your chocolate not melt in the car.

Alright, let’s get into it. Sports headlines, zoning drama, smart homes, and a weekend lineup that includes dogs, beer, movies, and 5Ks (voluntary suffering).

⭐ Cowboys Announce 2026 NFL Draft Party Plans at The Star

Clear your calendar for April 23–25 because The Star is turning into Draft HQ again.

The Dallas Cowboys officially announced their 2026 NFL Draft Party lineup, and yes, it’s a full production.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • Night One (April 23, 6 PM): Live draft coverage inside the Ford Center

  • Rounds 2–3 (April 24, 6 PM): Coverage moves outside to Tostitos Championship Plaza

  • April 25, 8 AM: Annual Draft Day 5K (because cardio builds character)
“Tails & Touchdowns: Draft Edition” – A dog-friendly draft party with a “Doggie Draft” adoption zone

Expect appearances from current and former players, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders performances, live music, and interactive activities.

As of now, the Cowboys hold eight picks in the 2026 draft, including the 12th and 20th overall selections in the first round. That’s a busy first night.

Translation: If you hear yelling in your neighborhood April 23, it’s probably draft reactions. Or fantasy football group chats combusting.

🪑 Koper Outdoor Relocates Showroom to Frisco

Frisco just gained another outdoor living destination.

Koper Outdoor is relocating its showroom from Prosper to 6644 All Stars Ave., Ste. 140 in Frisco, officially opening April 10.

They specialize in outdoor furniture and accessories, dining sets, fire tables, sofas, infrared heaters, fans, and all the “backyard but make it luxury” essentials.

The move allows them to consolidate space and expand operations.

Perfect timing too…since half of us are pretending we’ll actually use our patios more this year.

🏡 Smart Home Demand Surges in Frisco

Apparently, Frisco homes are getting smarter than the rest of us.

Advanced Home Theater reports a growing demand for full scale home automation systems, lighting, climate control, security, entertainment, all integrated and controlled from your phone or tablet.

The trend reflects Frisco’s expanding luxury housing market, with more homeowners investing in connected systems that improve convenience and energy efficiency.

The company says demand has risen significantly since 2023, and they expect it to continue as technology evolves.

Basically, your house can now dim the lights, lock the doors, adjust the thermostat, and cue the movie…while you’re still arguing with Siri.

🚗 Proposed Auto Repair Shop Under Review Again

A proposed auto repair and muffler shop just north of Frisco’s Rail District is under review for the third time.

The business would be located near North County Road and All Stars Avenue, about 157 feet from the nearest residential zoning district, but city ordinances require a 250-foot buffer for automotive uses.

City staff received 68 public input forms:

  • 56 opposed

  • 12 in support

Residents have voiced concerns about potential noise and traffic impacts near Meadow Hill Estates.

The special use permit, if approved, would only last three years and would need renewal afterward.

The Planning and Zoning Commission tabled the item and will reconsider it at the April 14 meeting.

So yes…Round Three is coming.
