🧑⚕️ Frisco Doctor to Pay $3.5M Over COVID Claims Scheme
Dr. Samad Khan, a Frisco physician, has agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle allegations that he submitted false claims for COVID-19 testing and services that were never performed.
📍 His clinic, SK Primary Care, allegedly billed the federal Uninsured Program for nearly 400,000 tests, using codes that suggested patients were seen by qualified providers, but they weren’t.
🚗 Many of the tests were conducted at drive-thru sites by medical assistants, not doctors.
📝 The feds say Khan used elevated reimbursement codes and billed for "encounters" that didn’t happen, doubling up by charging once for test collection and again for sharing results.
Khan's license is currently delinquent, and while no criminal charges have been filed (yet), federal prosecutors made it clear that abusing pandemic-era resources will get you caught.
🧑💼 Former Frisco Pastor Arrested on Child Pornography Charges
Jim Mustain, a former community pastor at Preston Trail Community Church, has been arrested and charged with five counts related to child pornography.
📍 He was arrested in North Carolina on April 25 and extradited to Denton County on May 14.
⚖️ His bond is set at $500,000, and the investigation is ongoing.
🙏 Preston Trail stated it had no prior knowledge of the allegations during Mustain’s employment and has launched an independent third-party investigation.
