Full on “why is this happening sideways?” rain.

I walked into a meeting looking like I had just survived a light maritime accident. Shoes? Squishy. Hair? Negotiating. Dignity? Pending review.

Anyway, welcome to June in North Texas.

⚖️ Day 2 of Karmelo Anthony Trial: Students Dispute Self-Defense Claim

The second day of testimony in the Karmelo Anthony murder trial brought emotional and detailed witness accounts.

Students who were inside the tent at the April 2, 2025 track meet testified that they did not believe Anthony acted in self defense.

Witnesses described:

• Anthony being asked multiple times to leave the tent.

• A verbal exchange escalating over roughly two minutes.

• Austin Metcalf leaning in to push Anthony.

• Anthony allegedly stabbing Metcalf with a 5 inch folding knife.

One witness testified:
“Austin leans in to push him, and Karmelo stabs him.”

Students also stated they did not believe Austin was trying to start a fight and described Anthony as the aggressor.

Jurors were shown police body cam footage of officers performing CPR. It was reportedly very difficult for the family to watch.

More student witnesses are expected.

This is still ongoing, and the trial continues in Collin County.

🍞 Bread Zeppelin Lands in Frisco

🚨 Counter Protesters Outnumber Rally Attendees at City Hall

A rally outside Frisco City Hall this week drew around 50 counter protesters, some armed.

The original event, promoted on social media, used inflammatory language that sparked backlash and counter demonstrations.

City leadership reiterated that:

• General public comment has been removed from council agendas for now.

• Safety and decorum concerns influenced that decision.

There were chants, signage, political rhetoric, and heightened tensions.

I’m going to say this clearly:

I have no bias. I take no sides. I report what happened.

Frisco is growing fast. Growth brings diversity. Diversity brings tension sometimes. And social media tends to amplify everything.

My hope? We disagree better.
We talk better.
We live next to each other better.

Because at the end of the day, we’re still all stuck at the same Target checkout line.

Sweden Has Arrived in Frisco

The Swedish national team officially landed in North Texas and will use Toyota Stadium (temporarily called Frisco Stadium during the tournament) as their base camp.

They arrived Saturday evening around 5:15 PM.

Frisco is one of two North Texas cities hosting a team base camp.
