The Friday Recap for Frisco
Howdy, Frisco.
Happy Friday! Between this stormy season and the ACM Awards turning The Star into country music’s Disneyland, there’s a lot going on. As always, I’ve rounded up everything you need to know, from political drama to where to sip a kava-lada this weekend….Yeah I had no idea what that was at first either.

"Failure is fully mine": Council Member Issues Apology After Leaked Audio
City Council Member Tammy Meinershagen found herself in hot water this week after secret recordings revealed unfiltered commentary on fellow council members, political opponents, and even Frisco’s Indian community. The remarks sparked backlash and prompted not one but two apology videos from Meinershagen, who faces Burt Thakur in the June 7 runoff election.
🎧 Her words: "The failure is fully mine, and I own that." The reaction: Thakur called for unity and denounced casual intolerance. Residents like Navaz Jha demanded stronger accountability.
With runoffs looming, the political stage in Frisco just got hotter than a Texas July.
🌟 ACM Awards Return to Frisco
The Academy of Country Music Awards are back at The Star for the third year in a row. Reba McEntire is hosting (for the 18th time), and let’s just say the boots, fringe, and rhinestones are out in full force.
Expect road closures and traffic near The Star, Live music + outdoor performances already underway at the ACM Country Kickoff. Ella Langley leads nominations with 8.
And yes, Reba has a 150-pound jacket. Icon.
