🚗 More Parking Coming to the Rail District

Good news for anyone struggling to find a spot in the Rail District! The Frisco Community Development Corporation approved a temporary parking lot adding 84 new spaces at 4th & Oak and 4th & Elm.

With ongoing work on the parking garage, this new lot will serve as a short-term solution to help ease congestion. The city is putting $252,000 toward lease agreements for the land and another $377,483 to speed up construction by adding the work to an existing paving contract. If all goes well, expect the lot to be available soon!

🌳 Six Ongoing & Upcoming Parks and Trails Projects

Frisco is making major strides in improving its outdoor spaces. Here’s a rundown of six parks and trail projects in progress:

Ongoing Projects:

  1. Roger’s Settlement Park & Trail – This new 11-acre park, formerly Davis Park, will include sports areas, an open lawn, a dog park, and a new 0.8-mile trail. Expected completion: Early 2026.

  2. Panther Creek Trail – A 1.3-mile hike & bike trail connecting to the city’s network, with completion expected by late 2025.

  3. Independence Trail – A 0.5-mile trail linking Heritage High School to nearby trails, finishing before fall 2025.

  4. Shepherd’s Glen Park – Originally opened in 2006, this park is getting a bigger playground, splash pad, new parking, and better pedestrian access. Work wraps up by late 2025.

Upcoming Projects: 5. Veloweb Trail – A 6-mile regional hike & bike trail connecting SH 121 to Eldorado Pkwy. One section between Main Street & Dallas Pkwy is set to begin construction in late 2026. 6. Beavers Bend Park – This well-loved park is due for a major renovation, including upgraded amenities. Construction starts late 2025 and will finish by late 2026.

💙 Frisco Baby Survives Near-Death Flu Scare

9-month-old Avery Ash is a living miracle. After battling the flu, his heart stopped for 15 minutes before doctors revived him. His parents, Courtney & Scott, are now urging others to trust their instincts when it comes to their children’s health.

After an initial hospital visit, Avery was discharged, but Courtney noticed something wasn’t right. She rushed him back, where doctors quickly intubated him. Shortly after, his heart stopped, but after 15 terrifying minutes of CPR, he was revived. His parents now want to remind everyone: If something feels wrong, don’t hesitate, seek medical help.
