Frisco Insider - Championship + Steak + More

The Monday Scoop for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.

If you enjoyed Saturday’s 80-degree sunshine, I hope you took a picture. Because today? We’re back to wind, jackets, and that classic North Texas move where the weather just gaslights you.

It’s still breezy. It’s still cold. And yes, your allergies are confused again.

But we’ve got championship banners going up, global restaurants moving in, World Cup marketing strategies, and a teddy bear picnic on deck.

Let’s get into it.

🏆 Frisco Heritage Wins FIRST Boys Basketball State Title in Frisco ISD History

History. Made.

Frisco Heritage defeated defending state champion Beaumont West Brook 60–47 at the Alamodome on Saturday to win the Class 5A Division I state championship.

This is:

  • The first boys basketball state title in Frisco ISD history

  • Heritage’s first-ever appearance in a state title game

  • A 100+ year district milestone

Led by:

  • Bryson Howard (28 points, 15 rebounds)

  • Cameron Lomax (17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists)

  • Strong defensive runs and clutch free throws

Heritage jumped out early, built a 30–13 halftime lead, and never truly let West Brook back in it.

The city showed up. The energy showed up. The trophy is coming home.

Banner season officially begins.

For your back pain, knee pain, or other pain…

If your knees have been acting weird lately…like sore getting out of the car, stiff on stairs, or just not moving how they used to…you’re not alone.

That stuff usually doesn’t start in the knee. It often comes from your back, hips, or how your body moves as a whole.

That’s what the team at Core Strength Wellness looks at. They’re a local chiropractor here in Frisco, and their whole thing is helping people move better and hurt less. Knees, backs, hips, necks… even those random aches you’ve just learned to live with.

They start with a no-cost consultation. No pressure. No rush. Just a real look at what’s going on and whether they can help.

If you’ve been saying “I should probably get this checked out” for a while… this is your sign.

You can book the no cost consult with Core Strength Wellness and at least get some answers.

🥩 Pepper Lunch Opens First Texas Location in Frisco

Global Japanese hot-plate chain Pepper Lunch is officially soon opening its first Texas location at:

📍 9180 Warren Parkway (near Preston Road)

Here’s what makes it different:

  • Meals arrive on a 500-degree iron plate

  • You cook and mix everything yourself at the table

  • Orders placed via digital kiosks

  • Signature sauces to customize flavor

Founded in Tokyo in 1994, the brand has hundreds of global locations, and Frisco is now Texas’ test market.

Translation: It’s dinner and a cooking show.

⚽ Frisco Markets Itself as “A Kick Away” for FIFA World Cup Visitors

With nine World Cup matches coming to Arlington this summer, Frisco is making a strategic play to attract international fans.

Visit Frisco has allocated about $650,000 in marketing efforts to:

  • Attract hotel bookings

  • Promote the city as a “base camp” destination

  • Leverage influencers and FC Dallas players

  • Target specific international markets

One team advancing through playoffs (Albania, Poland, Sweden, or Ukraine) will:

  • Stay at Westin Stonebriar

  • Train at Toyota Stadium

If Poland qualifies, star striker Robert Lewandowski could bring massive global attention.

Argentina didn’t land in Frisco, but 100,000+ Argentinian fans are expected in DFW, which could push overflow tourism northward.

Frisco isn’t just hoping visitors wander in. It’s actively recruiting them.

Sports City USA isn’t playing small.

🚧 Weekly Roadwork Roundup
