The Friday Recap for Frisco

Howdy, Frisco.

Happy Friday! You’ve nearly sweat through the entire week, dodged melting flip flops, and maybe questioned your life choices every time you sat in a sun scorched car seat. But we made it. And whether you’re in the mood for volleyball or sipping a very cold martini under a very hot sky, I’ve got your weekend plans, top stories, and a heat friendly forecast.

Let’s get to it.

Dirk & Dude Perfect-Backed Brewery Coming to Frisco

A massive new brewery and entertainment space is headed our way this fall.
Rollertown Beerworks, backed by Dirk Nowitzki, Dude Perfect, and other big names, is set to open in October.

🍻 What’s coming:

  • 50,000 sq. ft. of cold beer + good vibes

  • A two story taproom

  • Outdoor beer garden + lawn

  • Live music, comedy, and yes, sumo wrestling

It’ll become the official HQ for Rollertown (formerly based in Celina) and serve up crowd favorite brews like “The Big German”, a nod to Dirk himself.

This newsletter keeps showing up in your inbox because of one thing: this amazing community.

It’s powered by readers like you and by the local businesses who choose to support something that’s built for Frisco, by Frisco.

We don’t charge anything to read it. And that’s only possible thanks to businesses in our city who believe in getting the word out in a way that actually feels personal.

So if you work at or know someone who runs any Frisco business that could use more clients/customers or simply wants to support a local publication trying to do something cool, we’d love to chat.

We help businesses connect with over 10,000 Frisco residents every week in a way that feels real. So if you want to get in front of that audience…

Send us a note at [email protected] and we’ll walk you through how it works.

And truly, thank you for reading. You make this all possible!

Frisco Woman Finds Stolen Car.…on Social Media?

After Courtney May’s Nissan Sentra vanished from her driveway, she did what any of us would do, panicked. Then she posted on social media. What she didn’t expect? A video of her car being used in a local crime spree.

What happened:

  • Thieves were caught on camera breaking into cars across the city

  • May’s toddler’s car seat? Ditched a mile away

  • Social media posts suggest garage door openers were also stolen

Police are investigating, and May is just thankful she wasn’t in the car when the thieves struck. Friendly reminder: lock your cars, hide your valuables, and maybe skip the “trust your neighborhood” mentality.

Frisco Gets $850K for Housing & Social Services

Frisco just secured $850,000 in federal funds from the Community Development Block Grant program. The goal? Help low to moderate income residents deal with skyrocketing housing costs.

Where the money’s going:

  • Meals on Wheels, Frisco Family Services & The Samaritan Inn

  • Emergency food, housing, clothing, and case management

  • Drainage & street repair projects tied to affordable housing

The funds will help over 1,200 residents, with improvements rolling out through September 2026.

FLOR Lifestyle Studio Opens in Frisco Square

There’s a new place in town that smells really good.
FLOR Lifestyle Studio just opened on Coleman Blvd in Frisco Square, and it’s more than just a candle shop.

What you’ll find:

  • Globally sourced, chemical-free candles & fragrances

  • Organic clothing, baby items & home décor

  • A focus on wellness and intentional living

Smells like a solid gift spot to me.
