Howdy, Frisco.
It’s giving spring chaos. I hope you’re doing well, staying dry, and not trusting the weather app that says “scattered thunderstorms” like that’s not code for “good luck.”
We’ve got heartwarming plane applause, payroll plot twists, Botox drama, and now….a Dallas Cowboy arrested in Prosper. Yes. Prosper. We are covering all of North Texas today since it’s a Wednesday edition.
Let’s dive in.

Texas Edition
✈️ Southwest Passengers Celebrate 2 Year Old Who Beat Cancer
On a recent Southwest flight from New York to California, passengers got more than beverage service, they got perspective.
Two year old Cruz, who had been battling stage 4 neuroblastoma, was flying home after being declared cancer free. For a year, he and his parents traveled back and forth between San Diego and New York for treatments.
Before takeoff, a flight attendant announced there was a “young hero” onboard. Then came the moment: Cruz is officially cancer free.
Passengers applauded, cheered, and wrote words of encouragement on napkins passed around the cabin. He walked off the plane with a stack of handwritten notes from total strangers.
According to his mom, Cruz said, “I’m strong. They’re talking about me, I’m strong.”
If that doesn’t make you emotional mid scroll, I don’t know what will.

🚒 Former Dallas Firefighter Sued for $127K in Alleged Overpayments
The City of Dallas is suing a former firefighter after he allegedly received $127,441.34 in paychecks after resigning in June 2023.
According to the lawsuit, his termination paperwork wasn’t processed properly, and he stayed on a roster of over 250 recruits. When time entries weren’t submitted, supervisors would auto enter 40-hour weeks, which meant checks kept rolling in.
The city claims he knew he was receiving the payments and even logged into the payroll system nearly a year later to update his direct deposit information.
The city is now seeking repayment plus interest.
Friendly reminder: if your old employer keeps paying you…,maybe don’t update your bank details.
💉 FDA Warns Southlake Med Spa Over Alleged Off-Brand Botox
The FDA issued a warning to Pure Indulgence Aesthetics in Southlake for allegedly administering Botox sourced from unauthorized suppliers.
Inspectors found discrepancies between how much Botox was purchased from AbbVie (the authorized manufacturer) and how much was administered to patients. They also reportedly discovered an unlabeled vial containing botulinum neurotoxin type A, the active ingredient in Botox.
Botox carries the FDA’s strongest warning label due to potential serious side effects if misused.
The spa says it is cooperating fully and implementing additional oversight measures. They have 15 working days to address violations.
Translation: If someone’s injecting your face, ask questions. Many questions.
🏈 Dallas Cowboys Safety Markquese Bell Arrested in Prosper
Dallas Cowboys defensive back Markquese Bell, 27, was arrested Friday night in Prosper on drug charges.
Prosper Police say the arrest happened around 10 p.m. near Prosper Trail and Dallas Parkway following a traffic stop. An officer reportedly smelled marijuana, and a probable cause search allegedly found less than two ounces of marijuana and a THC e-cigarette. Bell was charged with marijuana possession and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance.
As of Saturday afternoon, he remained in the Collin County Jail and had completed his magistration hearing. The Cowboys organization acknowledged awareness of the arrest but declined further comment.
Bell signed a three year, $9 million extension last year and appeared in all 17 games last season, recording 41 tackles and his first career interception. He originally signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
Details are still limited as the investigation continues.
Prosper was not on my “NFL headline generator” bingo card this week….but here we are.

Answer: B) Two competing candidate forums happened at the same time. Because why have one forum when you can have scheduling drama?
