The Friday recap for Frisco
Howdy, Frisco!
Happy Friday, y’all! The weekend is here, and Frisco is packed with things to do. Whether you’re into arts, space, stargazing, or just trying to find parking at Kaleidoscope Park (spoiler: it’s getting better!), there’s something for everyone. Let’s get into it!
Frisco’s Arts Scene is Leveling Up
Big news for local creatives, Frisco has officially adopted its first-ever Cultural Affairs Master Plan.
This means:
More public art installations and murals
More festivals, music, and cultural events
Support for local artists & nonprofit arts organizations
Turning Frisco into a creative & cultural hub (beyond sports & shopping!)
City leaders say the plan will bring people together through the arts, because nothing bonds strangers faster than awkwardly dancing at a live concert together.
More Parking at Kaleidoscope Park!
Ever circled the lot 10 times trying to find a spot at Kaleidoscope Park? Help is coming
1,100-space parking garage approved 🚘
New outdoor video screen for events 🎥
A water feature (because, well, Frisco loves fancy water features) 💦
A stage for live performances 🎶
The city hopes this makes Kaleidoscope Park a must-visit for locals and visitors alike, kind of like Frisco’s version of Klyde Warren Park, but with less Dallas traffic.
Frisco Center for the Arts: What You Need to Know
The long-awaited Frisco Center for the Arts is in the works, and the city wants YOUR input! Open house events are happening next week where you can ask questions & learn more.
March 10 & 11, 4:30-6:30 PM
Frisco Public Library (8000 Dallas Parkway)
The venue will bring Broadway shows, concerts, and community performances to Frisco, so if you’re tired of driving to Dallas for entertainment, this could be a game-changer.
ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: PGA Parkway
Heads up, PGA Parkway will be CLOSED between Preston Rd. & Hillcrest Rd. from March 6-7.
Road closed: 7 AM Thursday – 5 PM Friday
Detour: Use Hillcrest Rd. & Panther Creek Pkwy.
If your commute takes you through this area, brace yourself or find an alternate route.
